Dear Franklin County community,

We are thrilled to bring this amazing opportunity to all of our families who utilize our bus transportation services. With this app, you’ll be able to track your child’s bus in real time, receive important notifications, and communicate directly with our transportation team. Keep an eye out for an invitation from us soon if you haven't already received your invite!

We also want to share some early feedback from one of our families. This is proof that this tool is already making a difference! A huge shoutout to Sherry Boarman and Brad McKinney for their dedication and hard work in bringing this project to life.

Preschool Families – Important Arrival Reminders

Preschool families,
On Wednesday, August 26, we are so excited to welcome our youngest learners to the Early Learning Village! We are looking forward to a wonderful year of learning, growing, and exploring together as we begin PreK for All.

Here are a few important reminders to help make our first morning run smoothly:
🚗 Morning Car Rider Drop-Off
All preschool car riders must be dropped off through the car rider line.
Parents will not be permitted to enter the building during morning arrival.
Once you are in the car rider line, please remain in your vehicle. ELV staff will come to your car and assist your child with getting out safely.
Car rider drop-off is from 7:15–7:40 a.m.
Students arriving after 7:40 a.m. will be considered tardy.

🎒 Backpack Information
Please make sure the inside of your child's backpack is clearly labeled with:
Your child's name
Teacher's name
Teacher's room number
This information should have been provided to you prior to the start of school. If you are unsure of your child's room number or teacher information, please reach out to your child's teacher through ClassDojo before Wednesday morning.

❤️ A Few More Reminders
Please make sure your child arrives with their backpack each day and that their belongings are clearly labeled. Having this information readily available will help our staff get students to the correct classroom quickly and safely.

Our first morning may take a little longer as everyone learns the routine, so we appreciate your patience, flexibility, and cooperation. Our staff will be outside and ready to help your child have a safe and positive start to their school day.

We are incredibly excited to welcome our preschool students to ELV! This is the beginning of a very special year as we launch PreK for All, and we are grateful that you have chosen to be part of our ELV family.

Let's make it a wonderful year together!

Each month, the Early Learning Village is welcoming a leadership group within our district for a “Thankful Thursday” event. To kick off the first month, ELV hosted the FCS board members for an inside look at the incredible work happening at the school.

- Board members toured the building, checking out our brand-new preschool classrooms and meeting the staff who bring these new spaces to life.

- Board members talked with staff, including teachers, the administrative team, food service, and custodial staff.

- Board members stopped by Kindergarten classrooms to see our youngest learners off to an amazing start this school year.

As a token of appreciation, board members left with a handmade project crafted by our Kindergarten students! Thank you to our school board for helping us make ELV's first "Thankful Thursday" a success. We are looking forward to seeing which leadership group is next!

Good morning, Franklin County! It is officially the first day of school, and we can't wait to see you in our buildings — a few things to note as you prepare to leave this morning.
- If you have a child on the bus, download the Stopfinder app. This provides alerts and updated information regarding bus routes in live time. The link provides the tentative time the bus will be at your pickup/dropoff location. Be aware that the time may be delayed as we navigate the first day. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1W9GT0qGlkADDlZOrafpbf-mFvI5jJi69hThZM1IWbso/edit?gid=863096298#gid=863096298

- If you are dropping off your child at school, have patience and stay alert as we will have kids getting out of their vehicles. We also ask that you keep the line moving so we can ensure all of our kids get into the building on time.

- School Menus can be found here: https://menus.healthepro.com/organizations/1567/

If you have any questions, please reach out to your school directly. We've been waiting all summer for this day, and we are #Focused and ready for you. Have a fantastic year, Franklin County!

ELV Preschool and Kindergarten Families,

Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year!
I am so excited to welcome you and your child to the Early Learning Village! Whether this is your family's first year with us or you're returning for another year, we are thrilled you're here. Our teachers and staff have been working hard to get everything ready, and we can't wait to fill our hallways with the smiles, laughter, and excitement that make ELV such a special place.

We know starting a new school year is a big milestone for both children and parents. Thank you for trusting us with your child's education. We look forward to getting to know your family and partnering with you throughout the year to help your child grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

Back-to-School Bash
Monday, August 10 | 5:00–7:00 PM
Our Back-to-School Bash is a wonderful opportunity to meet your child's teacher, drop off school supplies, explore the building, and learn more about what to expect this school year. It's also a great chance for your child to become familiar with their new classroom before the first day of school.

To help with traffic and crowd control, we ask that you attend during the following time if possible:
Last Names A–M: 5:00–6:00 PM
Last Names N–Z: 6:00–7:00 PM
Thank you for helping us keep the evening running smoothly!

First Day of School
Kindergarten: Wednesday, August 12, 2026
Preschool: Wednesday, August 26, 2026

Morning Arrival
Our doors open each morning at 7:15 AM.
Student Drop-Off: 7:15–7:40 AM
School Begins: 7:40 AM

Having students here by 7:40 gives them time to settle into their classroom and begin the day with their classmates. Students arriving after 7:40 AM will be marked tardy, so we appreciate your help in getting your child here on time each morning.
As we begin this new school year, I hope you know that every child who walks through our doors is important to us. We are committed to creating a school where children feel safe, loved, challenged, and excited to learn each day. Our goal is for every student to leave ELV with a love of learning and wonderful memories of their first school experiences.

We are looking forward to an amazing year together and can't wait to see everyone at the Back-to-School Bash!

See you soon!

Warmly,
Lynette McKinney
