Dear Franklin County community,

We are thrilled to bring this amazing opportunity to all of our families who utilize our bus transportation services. With this app, you’ll be able to track your child’s bus in real time, receive important notifications, and communicate directly with our transportation team. Keep an eye out for an invitation from us soon if you haven't already received your invite!

We also want to share some early feedback from one of our families. This is proof that this tool is already making a difference! A huge shoutout to Sherry Boarman and Brad McKinney for their dedication and hard work in bringing this project to life.

ELV Fall Festival

ELV Families,
To help our students continue learning during unexpected school closures, NTI (Non-Traditional Instruction) packets will be sent home on the following dates:
Preschool: Thursday, October 15
Kindergarten: Friday, October 16
These packets contain 10 days of learning activities to be completed at home if Superintendent Mr. Kopp calls an NTI day due to severe weather or another emergency.
What do families need to know?
Keep the packet in a safe, easy-to-find place. Please do not complete the activities unless an NTI day is called.
Watch for teacher communication. If an NTI day is announced, your child's teacher will share which day's activities to complete through ClassDojo or email.
Return completed work. All completed NTI activities must be returned to school within five school days of your child returning to in-person instruction.
Electronic NTI packets are also linked below for families who may need to access the activities electronically.

Dear ELV Families,
We would like to inform you that a new substitute teacher may be accompanied by a service dog while working in our building. Individuals with disabilities have the right to be accompanied by service animals, and we remain committed to honoring those rights while also ensuring a safe, welcoming, and supportive learning environment for all students.
If your child has a fear of dogs or a medical concern such as a dog allergy, please contact Lynette McKinney, principal, at lynette.mckinney@franklin.kyschools.us. This will allow us to work collaboratively to determine appropriate protective measures and ensure your child’s needs are met.
Thank you for your partnership and continued support as we strive to meet the needs of every member of our school community.

Our preschool and kindergarten friends had a special visitor, Miss September! She helped our students learn what it means to be a Bucket Filler Friend by talking about kindness, caring, sharing, and how our words and actions can make others feel. Our students had so much fun learning and participating.

Dear Kindergarten Families,

At ELV, we believe that being at school each day is an important first step in helping your child have a successful educational experience. Consistent attendance helps students build routines, develop relationships, and make important academic and social progress.

We wanted to share some important information regarding kindergarten absences:

5 parent notes may be used to excuse absences.
10 doctor notes may be used to excuse absences.
Once these notes have been used, additional absences may be considered unexcused.
All notes must be submitted within 5 days of the absence.

Notes may be emailed to elv.office@franklin.kyschools.us or sent to school in your child's folder.

Thank you for partnering with us to help your child make the most of their kindergarten experience. We appreciate your support in making regular attendance a priority!

Sincerely,
ELV Administration

Preschool Families – Important Arrival Reminders

Preschool families,
On Wednesday, August 26, we are so excited to welcome our youngest learners to the Early Learning Village! We are looking forward to a wonderful year of learning, growing, and exploring together as we begin PreK for All.

Here are a few important reminders to help make our first morning run smoothly:
🚗 Morning Car Rider Drop-Off
All preschool car riders must be dropped off through the car rider line.
Parents will not be permitted to enter the building during morning arrival.
Once you are in the car rider line, please remain in your vehicle. ELV staff will come to your car and assist your child with getting out safely.
Car rider drop-off is from 7:15–7:40 a.m.
Students arriving after 7:40 a.m. will be considered tardy.

🎒 Backpack Information
Please make sure the inside of your child's backpack is clearly labeled with:
Your child's name
Teacher's name
Teacher's room number
This information should have been provided to you prior to the start of school. If you are unsure of your child's room number or teacher information, please reach out to your child's teacher through ClassDojo before Wednesday morning.

❤️ A Few More Reminders
Please make sure your child arrives with their backpack each day and that their belongings are clearly labeled. Having this information readily available will help our staff get students to the correct classroom quickly and safely.

Our first morning may take a little longer as everyone learns the routine, so we appreciate your patience, flexibility, and cooperation. Our staff will be outside and ready to help your child have a safe and positive start to their school day.

We are incredibly excited to welcome our preschool students to ELV! This is the beginning of a very special year as we launch PreK for All, and we are grateful that you have chosen to be part of our ELV family.

Let's make it a wonderful year together!

Each month, the Early Learning Village is welcoming a leadership group within our district for a “Thankful Thursday” event. To kick off the first month, ELV hosted the FCS board members for an inside look at the incredible work happening at the school.

- Board members toured the building, checking out our brand-new preschool classrooms and meeting the staff who bring these new spaces to life.

- Board members talked with staff, including teachers, the administrative team, food service, and custodial staff.

- Board members stopped by Kindergarten classrooms to see our youngest learners off to an amazing start this school year.

As a token of appreciation, board members left with a handmade project crafted by our Kindergarten students! Thank you to our school board for helping us make ELV's first "Thankful Thursday" a success. We are looking forward to seeing which leadership group is next!
